Highlighting background of text for editor - how?
|

| One of the people in our department is used to highlighting the backgrounds of
certain text areas to specify the text for future editing. He is used to doing
this in another product. We have recently moved to Dreamweaver 4.
Having used Dreamweaver for 18 minutes more than the others, I was dragooned
into 'fixing' this for him.
I created a CSS function for him to color the background of selected text.
However, no good deed goes unpunished. He's back with the complaint that the
original highlighting goes OK but when he scrolls away and comes back, the
highlighting appears to have shrunken vertically - that is, if 4 rows of text
were originally highlighted, when he scrolls back the first time, ~3.5 rows
will be highlighted. Next time, ~3 rows. Well, you can see where this is going.
I've spent quite a bit of time looking for a solution to this and it's
becoming a quest!
Is there a better way to do this? I could really use some help.

| Is he doing this scrolling in DW?
Since the highlighting is determined by the placement of styles around your
text, there is no logical way that scrolling the page could yield a
'contracting' highlight area. Is it perhaps possible that your colleague
sees this effect only after a deeply liquid lunch?
Seriously, could you show me some text before and after the highlight?

| So - this is confined to display in Dreamweaver? I really don't have a clue
other than to begin taking a hard look at your graphics subsystem. I have
personally never experienced anything like this.
Could you perhaps email the document to me?
