php/mySQL Shopping Cart Extensions ???

| All,
I'm looking to set-up a site that will require a shopping cart.
I have been considering CubeCart (www.cubecart.com) but, while I was
narrowing down my search, I came across IntelliCART MX
(www.rawveg.org) and it got me thinking.
Does anybody know of other alternatives that are DWMX04 friendly?
Specifically, I am trying to show about 400 - 500 stationary/invitation
designs and allow customers to see a thumbnail, click to enlarge, add to
cart, enter their custom text in a submit form, and process cc via PayPal.
Any pointers would be VERY much appreciated.
Thx,
J

| PS ~~ I have a basic understanding DW and FW, but I don't know anything
about ColdFusion... (in case that's relevant)

IntelliCART MX is superb, I've used it to develop several e-commerce pages,
and Tim Green is an exellent helper when you are stuck. But IntelliCART MX
don't work in DWMX04. And as far as know there aren't any extensions for DW
that do that at the moment.

| Try the FX cart from www.felixone.it
Alternatively, if you want to use the PHaKT model, you might also try
their KX cart (www.interakt.com)

| John,
Not sure by your subject line whether you are after a PHP specific shopping
cart.
From reports I have read, the offering from rawveg is pretty good - though I
*think* you need to know some php.
There is also the freebie oscommerce, but needs quite a bit of customisation
on your part.
If PHP is not set in stone, you could look at an asp out of the box
solution - YourVirtualStore - you don't need to know *any* asp whatsoever,
the package does it all for you. Includes a content management system as
well as the shopping cart. You can use the ecom as the backend of an already
designed site, or use the package as it comes, but change to suit your own
design. More info at the Ecommerce link in my sig.
You could also look at Cartweaver which is a CF solution - I believe you
don't need to know any CF for this one either :)

| Hi John,
<shameless plug>you would better take a look at our MX Kart product
</shameless plug>
It is way more advanced than any other shopping cart solutions,
because our product implements the shopping cart recordset the right way
(by changing the core of Dreamaweaver to allow you to use the current
Server Behaviors with the shopping cart recordset)
http://www.interaktonline.com/products/MXKart/
(demo available for download)
Moreover, if you need to get started quick, you can try the MX Shop
- it is an already created and easily modificable web application that
will surely get you started in no time.
