Author backgrounds on a specific page

I've created a site with a general template and have several pages built. I
wanted to add a background to the content section of only one of these pages
but when I do the background goes onto all of the pages (I'm not changing the
template, just an individual page).

Is there a way to put a background in the content of only one page without the
background going on all pages.

my site is www.cockerspanielsanddoglovershaven.com

thank you for any advice

You already have been having fun with the css from the looks of the
<head> section of your page. You need to clean that up and link most of
the styles to one single stylesheet not have multiple
<style>....</style> tags in there.

Also I dont know what is happening to your .swf file in Mozila on Mac
but its continuously loading, like on a loop, but nothing actually is
visible apart from a bar counting down how much of the file has loaded.

You can just create an editable region in the <head> section of your
main template and then use that to define a specific background for a
specific page.

Make sure the editable region is below the link to your main css style
sheet for the css cascade to take effect

thank you for your comments -- I'm confused though (I've never built a website
before and this is my first time with Dreamweaver -- me and a large manual!)

I thought I had used one external style sheet and applied it to each page, but
now I remember creating styles that are not on the external sheet --

I don't know what's happening witht he .swf file in Mozilla on Mac, I'll have
my son's friend check this for me. I've run it on Mozilla on the Dell and it's
ok and here at work it's ok, but I don't have a Mac readily available

thank you for your help, I'll try fixing this when I get home tonight
