Dreamweaver - help im going insane.

I posted a post earlie today which explained that my pop up menu could not be
imported and a grey box appears - but its not just pop up menus! its everything
i try and import from dreamweaver! i click on the export to dreamweaver, and
then in dreamweaver click on import from fireworks and there are two i can
choose from. One is a gif and the other has an internet explorer at the side of
it. The internet explorer one makes the grey box and the other one doesnt work
if im trying to do animations or anything in java script. I also can not copy
and paste it because the same thing happens. Im going around in circles can
someone please help??? vic

What is the file extension on the file? (use right-click--->Properties)
What's in it if you open it with NotePad? With Internet Explorer?
With Dreamweaver? (in dw, use File-->Open and browse to that file.
(if it's got an odd file extension which is what i think has happened,
change the "show file types" thing at bottom of the browse to file dialog
box. And rename the file.

and- take a look at what file extension is showing up when you are doing the
export from Fireworks

Best- - set the operating system up so it isn't hiding file extensions.
