problems with ftp from DW MX on Mac running Panther

Does anyone know if there is a conflict between the ftp in DW and Mac's
Panther operating system? I am able to us stand alone ftp programs such as
Fetch and CuteFTP, however I am unable to use the DW ftp. It works on my
laptop which is running Jaguar.
Is there a fix for this?
Thanks!

I click on connect, then the dialog box comes up saying "Host found,
connecting..." then another box pops up saying "Waiting for server..." it
scrolls to the end then says "An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection
to host."

| Darlene,
I did have problems connecting to my webserver until I tried this fix but that
was in Jaguar. Since this fix worked in Jaguar I decided to keep in when I
upgraded to Panther.
Is your firewall turned on with Panther? Sys Pref>Internet & Network>Sharing.
Select the Firewall tab. If you see Firewall On, select "Stop."
I was wondering if Apple fixed this. I know I should turn the FIrewall on but
it's such a hassle to turn that on and off whenever I want to upload files.
Hope this works

| try with "Passive" checked in that site definition==>remote info.
if it still fails, go to System Preferences-->Network-->Firewall settings
and try it with the built in Firewall turned off.
the Firewall is blocking two-way transmission.

| It's already on in my system preferences as well as in my site preferences
within Dreamweaver - I just double checked.
