I have used the sound behavior and attached it to the onmouseover event for my
buttons

the problem is whenever I rollover the button it opens up another page and
then plays the sound

the sound file is wav file.

Any help would be appreciatted.

Oh, and think twice before doing this to begin with...a lot of people get
annoyed with sounds like this on a web site.

Use flash for sound interaction like this. It's the only cross-browser way
to provide a consistent user experience.

Thanks for the help, Is their any other way of doing it without using flash, I
created a site a long time ago that did the same thing without using flash( I
cannot find those old files.) As for the sound that is what the customer wants.

Thanks
Joe

Consitently/reliably cross-browser? No, not really.

This (OLD) page goes over it a bit:

http://www.intrafoundation.com/howto4.html

The issue is that at one time it was a pain, then around version 4 browsers,
you could do it with some built-in plugins and javascript, but the newer
browsers now, namely the Mozilla group, have taken away a lot of the bells
and whistles that web-users had no need for (sounds on rollovers,
unrequested pop-up windows, BLINK tag, etc.)

Here's a method that seems to work as long as the end-user uses IE/PC:
http://www.webdevelopersnotes.com/tips/html/5.php3

Flash is really the way to go for this type of thing. Granted, flash brings
its own set of issues with it.

As the customer if sound is what THEIR customers want. ;o)

It's maybe cool for a few seconds, but it get's old really quick...and
annoying your customers isn't usually the best business model. ;o)

Thanks for information, do you have any documentation on doing the sound with
flash, I will go that route.

As for the customer, I did explain to him that most of his customer would not
like it, he still wants to go forward though.

There's a ton out there. Flashkit.com is a great place to hang out with
plenty of Flash tutorials.
