Author Custom file extensions w/site map, check links

My site has tons of .HTP pages, which is the file extension used by Purveyor's
web server for server-parsed HTML pages. I'd like to be able to view these in
the Site Map window, and to run link checks on them. Is there any way to add
these as HTML pages with links?

I've added .HTP to the relevant sections of .\Configuration\Extensions.txt and
..\Configuration\DocumentTypes\MMDocumentTypes.xml. That gets Dreamweaver to
open and edit the files correctly, but it still refuses to acknowledge that
those files contain links; the "Check Links" reports no links, and the Site Map
displays no children for any .HTP page.

Is this possible, or is the list of "file types which may contain links"
hardcoded somewhere I can't get to?

That's a good suggestion/question, and I don't know the answer! Please ask
it of the development team -
