Author splash page redirect

I am helping someone build a site and they would like to have a splash page (I
know, but I can't talk them out of it) with a flash animation that then goes to
thier main page. I am fairly new to web design having only done a few simple
sites, and haven't been able to find the answer to how to open up the main page
or index after the splash page is fininshed boring people. I'm sure it is
really simple but I don't know enough to know how to ask the question properly.
Any help would be appreciated.

You do this from within Flash. At the end of the Flash movie you tell it to
GOTO URL and point it to the site's main page and....voila!

Hmmpf, but then _don't_ forget a "skip intro" link!

Yes. And also do this: make an invisible button (one that has a graphic
only in the "hit" state.) Use a rectangular graphic for the hit state
and put it in the topmost layer. Stretch the button to all four edges of
the movie. Add a script to it that will go to the home page. This will
make it so that clicking anywhere within the Flash intro will jump
immediately to the home page.
