Dreamweaver - DW doesn't update pages using template

Hi,
I use dreamwaver for years but have never used the template features, I have
created a small template with one eidtable region and created a page using this
template. When changing the template I have been asked if I would like to
change pages using the template and when answering yes, selecting pages using
the template just as the help section indicates the page doesn't change and
here is the message I get:
Updating C:\mywebsites\fanning contracting\
Done.
files examined: 1
files updated: 0
files which could not be updated: 0
total time: (0:00:01)

Would any one have any good tutorials on this feature?

Here are five ways to make changes not propagate from Template to child -

1. Rename the Templates folder
2. Move the Templates folder to some other folder level in the site other
than root level
3. Move a template out of the Templates folder.
4. Make changes to an editable region of the template (which will not
propagate)
5. Corrupt the site cache so that the link between template and child page
is broken

The latter problem can be repaired by using SITE | Advanced > Recreate Site
Cache, and the three others can be fixed by just not doing them. Have you
done any of those?
