How do i link an image such as that when i click(mousedown) on that image, a gif file in a layer will appear?

Do you want the image to appear or the whole layer? In other words, what
else is in the layer? If there is anything in that layer, is it always
visible?

Thanks for your reply. The gif file is in a layer.
Eg: I have a 'HOME' button that when i click on it, the gif file(which is in a
layer) will appear.
It shld not b always visible and only visible when i click on the 'HOME'
button.
Since the gif file is to appear on the same page/broswer, i can't use the
'link' function, right.
Pls help, Thanks in advance :-)

I think I know what you mean but I'm nit entirely sure, so I'll repeat it to
make sure it is what you're asking.

So, is it correct that you want to make an image appear over the previous one
after you clicked a button or whatever?

Here's the deal. The image is already in a layer you say, that half the job
you needed to be done.
Now, you can select the object which needs to be clicked upon in order to make
your image appear.
Add a behaviour called 'Show-Hide layers'. Select 'show' next to the
appropriate image in the screen you get after adding the behaviour and make
sure that your event type is 'OnClick'.

I guess this should be it, but forgive me if I understood your question the
wrong way.

Greetzzz,

Ruben.

That's the right answer, but it sounds to me like the original poster is
trying to make a whole web site on a single page, just by showing/hiding
layers. This usually makes a single page that is larger than my Aunt
Fanny's ... err ... fanny, and is just a very bad idea....

HI Ruben,

Thanks for yur help but i think u misunderstood my quest.
so sorry, I'll try to repharse the quest:
Eg, there's a 'HOME' button and a 'ABOUT US' button on the top of the page.
so when i click on the 'HOME' button, an animated gif 'HOME' word (which is in
a layer) will appear on the lower right of the page.
and the same applies when i click on the 'ABOUT US' button: an animated gif
'ABOUT US' word(which is oso in a layer) will appear on the lower left of the
page( and wld of coz overwrite the previous animated home gif.
Pls pls help...thks :-)
