Hi, this may be off-topic, but Im designing a college page and I want to use
one of those animated gifs that says "update" or "new", something to that
effect so that I can use for our news & events page to catch attention. where
do ppl get these? can you refer me to someplace...thanks

Use Google. Search under "free animated gif clip art" or something similar
and you'll find tons of things to choose from.
