Those of you too young to have really enjoyed Ray Charles should run, don't
walk, and see what all the fuss was about. He was greatness, and he'll be
missed. This is a huge loss. I never get sad when a celeb that I have never
met dies, but I am sad today.

Sad news indeed. Time to pull out the old LPs and play em again. Have um
all in MP3, but it's not the same.

A sad day today. When a great artist dies--and Charles was one of the
greatest--I focus on the incredible body of work that is his legacy. As
I felt with John Lennon, among others who have passed in my time, any
one of his recordings was such a joy that, while it's sad there will be
no more, he had already given us so much more than anyone could have
ever expected from a single human being.

I guess he's singing with the *real* gospel now :-)

Wow, It seems all the greats are passing away. Its a shame that they are being
replaced by some of the "stuff" thats coming to the record stores now. I still
have "78's of Ray Charles.... makes me feel real old.

Regards for a dying breed,

OH NO! How I love Ray Charles. I quit playing guitar professionally in
'87, but I still have dreams about playing with him (I never even met
him),

MT,
Thanks for bringing this up. He was so young, relatively speaking, too.
