Does anyone know if there is a program out there that will slow down a high
speed connection so that you can simulate the load speeds of a 56k modem?

Thanks

You don't need to do this. Just calculate download times using 4K/second on
a typical 56k dialup.

Thanks Murray,

I just wanted to experiance it rather than just calculate it. DW does a
pretty good job of that as it is. When I go to one of my clients house I get
to see what 56k is like again and it is a very different experiance than
just saying it should dl in 7 secs.

Actually, DW does a pretty good job of calculating total page weight. It
does a terrible job of presenting download times, since it assumes that a
56k dialup will download 56,000 bits per second. As we all know, this is
impossible.

I would like it to use the typical achievable value for this (which is what
I use to arrive at 4K/second).

Just go into preferences and knock it back to 33.6 - I just checked, and
that lists 28K/7 sec.

But... That's too much like cheating. And, I'd get confused.
