Author Server Software for Feedback Forms

Hi!

I am creating my first web page so appreciate all of your help! I am making
feedback forms in Dreamweaver MX 2004. I was told that I need to ask my Host
Server what type of software they use so that I can type in that information in
the action field when creating a form. When I spoke with the person that is
hosting our site, he had no idea what I was talking about. Am I asking the
wrong questions?

Thank you.

Yes - ask them what server models they support. If they still say "huh?"
then you need to change hosts.... 8)

If "server models" confuses them, ask them which, if any do they support:
php, asp, perl, front page extensions, etc. If they still don't
understand, Murray's right - you need a different host. You will probably
need a script and it will go into a directory specified by your host.

Thank you for your feedback! What is it that I need to run these feedback forms on Dreamweaver so that my online forms work?

There are many scripts freely available for processing form data. Which one
you select would depend on what server models are supported by your host.
If you would post that information, then you would likely be able to get a
recommendation....
