one dumb question- but-
You are asking about people wanting to unsub AFTER they've opted in, right?
There shouldn't be any people on the list now who don't want the newsletter,
right? It's not a blind mailing or from a purchased list?

depends on how you are doing this, or how you could do it.
how large a list? how are you doing this now?

one way would be to install a serverside script on your site, that has an
admin facility for you to manage the list and send the emails. Most of the
pre-written ones will automatically insert an "unsubscribe" link in the
mail, that's a generated link that will unsub that person.

take a look in the newsletter category at http://hotscripts.com

thanks for your response. This will be our first html email newsletter but it
is only going to our wholesale customers who already receive regular emails
from us. There will be about 30 or 40 on our mailing list. I'll also check out
hotscripts.

for that small number, you could run it out of outlook express.
Use "rules" to handle the unsubscribes, or just do it manually.

If you are using ColdFusion on your server, you could create a page that
updates your DB (i'm assuming you are using one). What I do is create a field
in my DB that you can use to turn on/off whether they recieve email. Then you
can set up a link in your emails with a link a page that will unsub them if you
include a ID number in the URL, and/or a form where they can type in their
email address to unsub. I hope this helps.

thanks for the advice - I might need to get back to you if I have problems but right now I'm out of the office for the weekend so I can't try things out until I get back next week.
