Does anyone know of any good networking forums?

I'm trying to hook up my new laptop to my old pc to transfer my files over.
I have a crossover cable but I can't figure out why the files and transfer
wizard won't work.

Any ideas?

What operating system is on each machine?

File sharing turned on? Same Workgroup name? Same IP mask?

I have no clue.

I called eMachine and they said the Files & Transfer Wizard wont work for
some reason...

So I tried to set up a simple direct cable (crossover) from the laptop
(guest) to the desktop (host). I have C: and My Docs on the Host being
shared. I just can't connect to the Host. I believe it's a device issue.
When I set up the connecton on the Host, the port they want is either Com1
or Com3. When I set up the connection on the laptop, it's something
different (WAN Miniport (ATW) (IRDA11-0) or (WAN Miniport (ATW) (IRDA11-1).
I set up a new user on the Host so that I can login from the laptop...but it
won't connect. But what's funny is when I disconnect the crossover cable,
on my desktop, it says a network cable is unplugged...but that's under the
LAN or High-Speed Internet section, not the Incoming section..that just says
no clients connected.

I'm lost...
