PHP and LiveData Server

| Hi all,
I am attempting to get my local machine to work as my testing machine for
PHP and mysql using MacintoshOSX 10.3 and DreamweaverMX 2004 7.01. I have
been unable to create valid test server settings, though. After setup,
clicking the "Live Data View" in Dreamweaver results in an error that says:
" The testing server did not execute any of the scripts in your document.
Possible explanations include:
1) The testing server is not running.
2) The testing server ignores files with the ".php" file extension
3) Your document does not contain any scripts "
However, whenever I click to preview it in the browser, the page renders
perfectly.
Right now I have the settings for the testing server to access the local
network, with the prefix of my "http://localhost/~myhomedirectory/mysite/."
I have also tried accessing my own machine via FTP, using the following
settings. It also works in the sense that it will render once you click to
preview in an external browser.
PHP MySQL
FTP
localhost
login: mylogin
password mypassword
prefix: http://localhost/~myhomedirectory/mysite/
Does anyone have any idea what could be going wrong here? Am I mistaken in
that LiveData View should work with PHP?
Thank you for your help!

| I have tried several different modes, and cannot get the Live Data View
to work. I have downloaded another Macintosh development program
called 'PageSpinner' - which also claims Live Updates when working with
PHP files. It works like a charm, using the same settings specified to
Dreamweaver.
I would still like to get DreamweaverMX working with Live Data View,
but am inclined to believe that MX2004 doesn't really work with PHP and
Live Data. How curious.

I've never found the live data view very useful, preferring to preview
instead. However, I have no problem getting live data to work with the
PHP models on either my Windows or Linux machines. I hate to say it,
but it might be a Mac problem.
