Need help with Templates

| aca_dia 2004-04-22, 5:30 pm |
| Is there anyway to change the background color of an individual page that is
connected to a template? In other words if I have 6 pages connected to a
single template can I edit the background color of each separately?

| I just tried and it seems not.
Maybe some experts know of some extensions of workarounds.

You could copy the template (with a different name), change the colors
and link those pages to that template.

| Hi aca_dia
There are a few ways to do it, depending on how you've built the template.
You can either put a new on off style in the head of the page just for the
page background such as:
<style>
BODY {background-color: red;}
</style>
Or make the attribute in the body tag editable so you can just modify the
template properties. Look in the help files on dreamweaver about attributes and
will tell you how to do it.
Hope this helps

| Of course you can. There are many ways, but here are two of the easiest.
Use a CSS redefinition of the body tag that is in the editable region in the
head, e.g.,
<!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="head" -->
<style type"text/css">
<!--
body { background-color: #FFF; }
-->
</style>
<!-- TemplateEndEditable -->
Or - make the bgcolor attribute of the template's body tag editable using
MODIFY | Templates > Make Attribute Editable (after selecting the body tag
on the TagSelector), and use a COLOR parameter type.
Or....

| Hi Cesca,
You can make any attribute additable in the template. Just select the BODY
tag in your template and select in the menu Modify >> Templates >> Make
attribute editable...
Regards,
Angel.

| I figured that there had to be a simple solution for this. Thanks for the help.
