| for 3 weeks i had a website that was listing at the top of search engines, then
all of a sudden, the link can't be found.
Does anyone know why my site is no found by search engines after being on the
top of a search for several weeks?
Any ideas?

| this does occur sometimes. there are many many factors to this... meta tags don't really affect your listings much nowadays as a newsletter from webpronews had mentioned. =D

| Google in particular went through a big change not that long ago, maybe your
site doesn't meet the correct criteria anymore...
Have a look at the SEO section at the link in my sig - may help a little.

| tip: do not try to submit your site more then once to google cos the first time
when its submitted, its submitted.. but the second time you submit it, it means
to ask google to remove your site. constant submission might also be considered
as spam

| ZhongQiang,
Thank you also for your generous advice....I never submitted my site to google
either. I just posted it, then after 3 weeks is was shown listed. *********I
did however upload my index again with minor changes. Is that considered a
"resubmission?"
Thanks for your time,
Phil

| Do you know what it could be? I didn't change any of my code at all. I was
sitting pretty at the 1 spot on google last week.
I'm lost.

| you're most welcomed Billy. Changing any content on your site would not have
anything to do with re-submission... A re-submissions means submitting your
site to google more then once via a search engine submission tool or directly
via "http://www.google.com/addurl.html". However, google does drop results
should there be any modifications be done and this would greatly depend on the
algorithm at that moment.. Google's search engine is very unpredictable. Even
if there's a link to your site from a site that has a high PageRank won't mean
that your site will improve in the ranking or positions unless its of the same
parent domain. You could find out more about this through a book "Google Hack".
Should be some useful information from there.. =)
