Is there a way to make a frameset a certain size? When I use a prebuilt
frameset that comes with DWMX2004, it fills the entire page. I only want it to
be about 750 pixels wide, while using the default prebuilt frameset. Thank you!

Are you sure you want to use frames?

the frameset has to fill the browser window- so one or more of the frames
in it has to "take up the slack" and be assigned to use any leftover space
after the fixed size frames are accounted for.

so to have a frameset be exactly 750 pixels wide- it has to be opened in a
750 pixel wide browser area.

are you asking how to open a fixed size browser window?

I want to make a webpage similar to one that I saw on the Internet. It seems
like it is approximately 750 pixels wide, and doesn't fill the entire browser
window. I think it uses frames because the top and left areas seem to remain
the same, while the lower-right main content area changes when a link is
clicked. It is at: http://jhill@hil-tec.com/index.htm. I just wanted my site to
use a design concept similar to that. I hear that everyone hates frames, but
for what I want to do, I thought that it might be a good idea. Thank you!

Frames are almost always never a good idea - here's why -

The easy way to tell is to look at the code on the page. When I do that, I
can see that it is NOT using frames. It's just low weight pages.

I decided not to use the frames afterall. I want the total content area to be
750 pixels wide, even if the browser window is wider. I'll just use a table of
that size and enter my content into it. I don't mind if a background shows
around the content area. Thank you for all your help!
