| I've just taken ownership of Dreamweaver MX, love the program. But for some
strange reason dreamweaver won't let me put a jpeg on the page. I know its a
problem with my setup because no one else I know has this problem. What am I
doing wrong. I've created the website in the root of C drive ie C:\my website,
and the images directory in the mywebsite folder. What have I done????

| steveo:
That's the second time I've seen you recommend this today, and I think you
should tell the whole story rather than part of it.
First, if they have a leading slash in the link to the image, it means that
they have used a ROOT relative link to it. If they are using temp files to
preview, then root relative links will work fine in both preview, and
further, when the pages are uploaded to the server.
If they are not using temp files to preview then root relative links will
NOT preview properly, but will still work on the server.
But, the OP seems to be having problems even putting a JPG on the page, much
less previewing it.
So -
Keiser:
Please give me an explicit description of what you are doing that fails -
start with creating a new page in DMX.

| fare enough but that is ONLY an idea because I once had the same problem and
even in preview it did not work! "The image being there" I'm just doing my best
to help. The reason not going into depth on this topic is because if you do a
"search" you will find this post over and over again! I'm just trying to get
the question answered! okay.. also this is why I asked for code so you could
see the problem if it is in the code.. alright I'm done.

| I undestand you are trying to help. But throwing random answers at a post
is not likely to do that. Keep trying though! 8)
