Author Any AtomZ Customers Out There?

I want to put AtomZ (http://www.atomz.com/) search functions on all my
sites, but I'm having some major problems with AtomZ. I put an AtomZ on
one of my sites long ago, so I thought it putting more online would be a
simple process. But I apparently lost my password and documentation. I
was unable to create a new password, and I can't get an e-mail response
from technical support. They always contact me by phone, even though
I've told them I'm almost impossible to reach and can't return long
distance phone calls.

I thought the solution was Dreamever's AtomZ extension, but I installed
it, and it doesn't work.

So I wondered if anyone knows whether it's legal to just copy an AtomZ
script from a website. (And can you recommend a good page to copy one
from.) I understand I have to pay to use it on sites with more than 500
pages. (I've told them I might be ready to pay for a couple of my bigger
sites, and they still won't e-mail me!)

I thought AtomZ scripts needed some sort of password to be activated,
but the existence of an AtomZ suggests otherwise. Any tips?

David,
I can't understand their inability to send an email, much easier and cost
effective I would have thought - unless they want to do a 'selling' job on
you :)

I wouldn't see a problem if you copied the code from your old site, the only
thing to think about is that when you do log in, you have the ability to set
all those updating preferences if you recall. When they should spider the
site etc., so not sure whether it would benefit your current site in this
case.

I have no idea what you can do, what about the google search facility. I
haven't looked at it myself, but others have referred to it here. Just
another option maybe.

Each AtomZ site account (not your general account) needs a unique number
which you'd need to be able to make the site search work. You'd also need to
be able to log on to your account to be able to customize the results page
(and any other settings for that site).

It's pretty poor of AtomZ not to just email you back with the info you need.
You might also find them very expensive for a paid site over 500 pages. I
was quoted $5,000 for a 750 page site.

There are a couple of site search alternatives you might like to try:

www.freefind.com
www.fusionbot.com

Well, that probably eliminates 99% of their webmaster market!

Alright, I'll check out all those options. Thanks!

However, if you are a non-profit they do offer a much reduced rate.
