Author HELP - Can't upload-FTP-remote server time?

Can anyone tell me what to do? I am at a loss - tried everything - nothing
works! I am using Dreamweaver Ultradev and conveniently, Macromedia has decided
they no longer supprt it and my company's web site is in distress cause I can't
update the site and we have a huge market coming up in 2 weeks. Great timing!
:-)

When I connect to the remote, I get the following error message: Dreamweaver
cannot determine the remote server time. The select newer and synchronize
commands will not be available. I have called my service provider which is
Verizon and they say it is a Dreamweaver problem. I am running other sites,
same program, same computer, same host, and they are all operating fine. I have
no clue why this started or how to fix it. I do have passive FTP checked under
remote and this did happen before the time change so it is not time change
related.

Has anyone had this problem and if so, can you tell me how to fix it? Thanks
so much!!!! :-)

a question-
Do you actually connect?
Is anything visible in the Remote side of the F8 Site manager?
Can you transfer files?

If not- do you get any error messages? and they are?

If yes, you can connect- what shows? Is there a list of subfolders; and
your site files belong in one of them?

Then, take that exact filename, and put it into the "Host Directory" line of
the site def-->Remote Info.

and make sure that your "homepage" index file is in the top root level of
both local and remote.

This guess is based on a hunch that you are connecting, but are in a Private
upper level login folder, and you don't have rights to write new files in
that folder. defining the site to the proper folder will allow dw to
connect, land in the correct folder, and determine server time.

of course, check the FAQ or support section for your hosting.
In looking and searching in the verizon site- there was no mention of
hosting in the support area that i could see...
