| Hi! I?ve tried to put a transparent gif (40 % white) as background in a table
with text. I want to lighten up the textfield on my page as contrast to a noisy
background. I can?t make it work though. Is there anyone who can give me a tip?
I use FW and DW.
Thanx.

| I just tried that, no problems. What is not working for you?
(I.e., I made a table, entered a transparent GIF as background, and typed some text over it. Worked).

GIF is not capable of alpha transparency. Each pixel is either
completely transparent or opaque.

If you want transparency effects you could use a PNG image, but IE
doesn't really support it ...

| If both colors are solid, just find out the color of your original with
40% white over it, and make a solid gif of that color.
