| I'm using Dreamweaver MX 2004 on Mac OS 10.3.3
OK - I have a big problem with one of my sites. I uploaded a site and found
that I could no longer modify, edit, or delete the files on the server. I have
tried enabling and disabling check in/out and nothing I can do will let me
change these files. I get an error saying the file is locked or HTTP 423 error.
I did not have check in/out enabled initially I don't believe. Also - I have no
..LCK files anywhere local or remote, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't enabled. I
did notice something very strange. When I mounted my server share point using a
Windows XP machine and looked at the files, the names were much longer than
what I see in dreamweaver or in Mac Finder.
For example - what I see in dreamweaver as "Photos.html" shows up in Windows
as:
"Photos.htmlopaquelock:80707ad- etc. etc. long code"
Is this something Dreamweaver appended to the files? I have no idea how to
change this. Nothing I find in dreamweaver, mac OS, or windows let's me modify
the file name or otherwise unlock these files.
Any ideas? The site works fine in web browsers, but I really need to update it.
