No Testing Server Available--BS!!!

| I have tried for hours and hours to figure this out. I have looked everywhere I
know how to look, and tried eveything that I have found, but not found a
solution. I am ready to take a baseball bat to my computer.
I am trying to set up a simple Intranet--I have done it several times before
without issue. I have an access database that the intranet pulls information
from. I have the ODBC DSN set up properly. I have IIS running on the web server
machine, and also use it for the testing server. I can access any kind of html
page without issues, but once I try to use pages with ASP script, they don't
work.
In Dreamweaver, I have the site set up correctly, as far as I can tell. I can
upload pages to the remote location, and the URL prefix set up properly.
Everything should work fine, as far as I can tell. But whenever I try to create
or edit a connection, I get an HTTP Error Cod 404 File Not Found. It gives two
reasons that this could be: No testing server is running on the server machine,
and the testing server specificed does not map to the location. From what I can
tell, neither is the case, as I can view regular web pages on the server (which
is the same as the testing server), and the URL prefix is correct.
Since this is on the local network at my work, I have tried this on two
different machines, with the same results.
At this point, I don't know what more to try. I imagine it is something very
simple, but can't for the life of me figure it out. If anyone out there can
offer suggestions, I would be very grateful.

| Are you using the remote host as the testing server, or setting a different
local machine or your own computer as the testing server?
What is the url prefix you are entering into the testing server box?
What is the url to actually view the pages on this server?

| Holy crap that's it! I knew it was something simple! The URL prefix should
include the subdirectory that the pages are in. So, instead of http://intern1/
it should be http://intern1/intranet/.
See, I knew it was something simple. I should have tried that long ago.
Anyway, thanks for sparking my brain, Alan.

| Alan, thanks for your response. Yes, the remote host is the same as the testing
server.
The URL prefix is: http://intern1/
A sample URL that works is: http://intern1/intranet/testingcrap.htm
There seems to be something not working with ASP scripts or database
connections, but I am not positive.
