Hi,

I am trying to check out files from my remote site to my local site and when I
check out the file lets say 'template.html', the file is copied to the local
site but is of size 0KB (file is empty). Any ideas why this may be happening???

It used to work before!
If you have got the answer to this please get back to me ASAP!
Thanks a million.

Naureen

What is the filename of the file you are seeing at 0 K?

Well! no matter whatever file I try to checkout like afn.html for example, it
checks out but when I view the file by double clicking on the file name
'afn.html' on the local area.. there is nothing in it. Size 0KB.

Actually, before, it prompted me with an error message saying 'FTP Error'
occured but after couple of tries it stoped prompting me .. and just gives me
an empty file.

Help!!!

I noticed the following as well:

In my remote view, if I check out a file that once existed in my local site
then the checkout works fine and the file is NOT of 0KB.

In my remote view, if I copy a file and try to check out this new file that
doesn't exist in my local site then the checkout fails and the file comes as
0KB.

I am unable to make copies in my local view and it complains about 'Unable to
make a copy of Copy of afn.html' however, I was only making a copy of
'afn.html' and not 'Copy of afn.html'

Any ideas??

By the way, the error that it gave me before was the following:

"An FTP error occured - cannot get index.html. Dreamweaver encountered an
internal Data error. Please try the operation again. "

If that helps !

Something is wrong with your FTP connection. A zero byte file is one that
has been requested, but has not been downloaded successfully. What has
changed in your FTP environment recently?

Thanks to all the people who replied to this post.
Actually the problem is now fixed.
We ran out of space on our local drive and therefore, FTP feature wasn't
working when we were trying to copy the files from remote to local area.

Thanks for all your help!
Naureen
