Author stop .mno and .new files uploading?

Hi,

Whenever I try to upload many files at once it takes too long because
dreamweaver uploads 2 extra files with every page. The extra files have the
extensions .mno and .new.

I figure these must be "design notes" or something, but I've turned off the
"Maintain Design Notes" option in the site definition and it still uploads
these files.

I've also made sure the "Check In/Out" and "Contribute Compatibility" options
are off.

Is there a way to stop Dreamweaver uploading these extra files, or do I just
have to use another FTP program?

Thanks,
Bel.

Does this site have active Contribute users?
Or did you try Contribute, or mistakenly "enable" contribute in MX 6.1?

If there are real current contribute users- It's a fact of life. Can't
change it. You can minimize the file churn by turning down the setting for
"rollbacks"

If NO contribute users-
Using MX 6.1, go into dw menu-->Site-->Admin Contribute site.
login, go to Sitewide settings.
Disable Contribute.

Or- use a different ftp client.
Log into remote site.
Find the _mm folder containing contribute.xml and toss it.

( It will also remove all ability of contribute users to connect/edit. Don't
do this if you do have Contribute users)
