Author Rollovers WITHOUT links?

I use Dreamweaver MX, with Mac OS X.

I'm creating a website that uses rollover images to add to the interactivity
of the site; however, these images don't actually link to any pages. Is it
possible to set up the rollovers so that a user does not see the "hand link"
when he rolls over them - it's too confusing for the user. If not, do i have
any options other than using rollovers if I'd like an image that appears to be
transparent, but becomes full color once the user mouses over it?

Thanks!

Maybe you can use the event "onMouseOver"

To answer the second question first, you would use a simple image swap,
i.e., swap the grayscale image with the color image.

You can use CSS to force the cursor to the default arrow, but I don't like
doing this -

..special { cursor: default; }

since it changes the basic behavior of the browser.

The swap image worked, it was exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks!
