Hi...I am new to Dreamweaver...............I am still confused as to which
method of layout is the best? Do I use layers, tables, standard or layout
mode? Which one is more efficient and which is easier to use?

Thanks

Use either layers or tables, whichever is easiest for you, and works best
for your page design. If you elect to use one, you can still use the other,
too - they are not mutually exclusive.

By all means, if you are using tables, build them in Standard Mode, not
Layout mode.

Murray,

I just completed a weekend course at my local community college on DW MX
(not 2004, unfortunately), and the instructor covered tables and layers (he
packed everything into it, and honestly there is a a LOT more to DW and web
development than I ever thought there was!). Anyways, he showed us how to
create tables in Layout Mode and didn't say not to use it. He did keep
saying that he does everything the hard way (not using the easy stuff in DW
cus he likes to code things with HTML) but there's nothing wrong with it.

So what's the downside to using layout mode when creating tables?
