I am new to DW2004MX. I added my site to my Powerbook and when I proceed to open a file it gives me a statement that says that the file is locked and would be "read-only." How do I unlock my files?

Use the Finder to reset the read-only status. You must have copied them
from a CD?

If you're on Mac OSX, select the file, do Cmnd (the "Apple" button) + i.
In the info window, select "Ownership & Permission".
Change to Read & Write for you, assuming you have the privileges to do this.

If this fails, you might need to fix permission of all your files.
Either, use the Disk Utility in folder "Utilities" or get an great app
called "Xupport" fom here:

suggestion-
Within Dreamweaver-
Open the F8 Site Manager.
Right-Click (option-click for mac) on the top level root Site Folder
If it's not dimmed, choose "Unlock"

or one by one- When those dialog boxes come up- there should be three
choices- Make writeable, cancel, View

Unless- Is this site stored on a read only drive? Like a CD?
