i uploaded a file using front page, and i clicked yes on a dialog box asking if
i want to remove some file from my server, and not thinking, i clicked OK.. i
can't remember what file(s) it removed.. but now i cannot access my server from
dreamweaver. i get two consecutive error boxes.

The first says: "Dreamweaver cannot determine the remove server time. The
Select Newer and Synchronize commands will not be availible."

The second says: "An FTP error occurred - cannot get remove folder
information. 550 /www: No such file or directory"

Does anyone know what i did, and/or how i can fix my connection???

Thanks a lot, guys! :)

I think you need to talk to your ISP; that 550 error seems to tell me that
you've deleted the www directory, under which your website would sit. That
would also agree with the first error message, which needs to create a
random file in your web site, read the creation date and then delete it. If
it can't create this file, you get that error. If you've deleted the web
directory, it won't be able to create the file.

The ultimate test is, does your website still exist on the Internet? but
even if it does, I think you need to speak to the ISP.

HTH,

Pete.

It sounds like your site permissions are wrong. If you cannot write to the
folder into which you are connecting, you would get the first error. If the
folder you are trying to connect to doesn't exist, you would get the second
error.

Talk to your host!

Verify that you are connecting to the correct folder within your hosting
account.
