Author Is there no way to select specific cell borders in DW MX???

In Front Page, you can take a table and select certain cell borders and
change them to be visible or not by using a border of 0.

In DW MX, once you have a four-sided cell, I cannot find any way to select
one or more sides of that cell and change the border for one or more sides
to a border of 0.

Am I missing something, or is this another feature of Front Page that isn't
available with Dreamweaver?

Hi Jenna,

This can be done using CSS. If I understand you correctly, here's what you
need to do:

1. Open DW MX to a new HTML document.

2. Insert a 3 column, 3 row table in the Design View.

3 Select one of the TD tags and add the following code:

<td style="border-bottom: 5px solid #FF0000; border-left: 5px solid
#FF0000;">&nbsp;</td>

Essentially what you have done is set a bottom border and a left border to a
5 pixel width and given a red colour. Of course, change it to what you want.

Does this help?

It's another example of how FP obfuscates the real world of HTML is all. In
the final analysis, the code produced by either FP or DW is the same, you
just have much more control over how it happens in DW.

I couldn't agree more.

Not to bash Microsoft or anything, but it's amazing to see just how many
people are still using FP over DW.

I suppose it comes down to budget really. At least that's the universal
argument I've heard.
