Search engine optimisation

| Using the Poodle predictor (the coolest tool of the year) I see that the
search engines first look at my menu items which are included in the
template and then at the content of the page. This of course means the
keywords in the body text are never spidered.

The question is how to move the menu items below the body text without
affecting the page layout. The other method would be to find a way for the
spiders not to look at the template content which would mean it would not
spider the links.
A conundrum that I fear has no solution.
