Using the Poodle predictor (the coolest tool of the year) I see that the
search engines first look at my menu items which are included in the
template and then at the content of the page. This of course means the
keywords in the body text are never spidered.

out.htm

The question is how to move the menu items below the body text without
affecting the page layout. The other method would be to find a way for the
spiders not to look at the template content which would mean it would not
spider the links.

A conundrum that I fear has no solution.

That was helpful Dan.
Why is it useless and how have I been conned?
I used it on my site and found what I thought were so many areas to improve
it.

Pete,

Sometimes, it's completely futile to elaborate.
Here it is, though:

There is *no* SEO application that will be able to optimize (or even
give suggestions) a website better than you can do by yourself after
spending a couple of hours reading here:

For discussions about SEs, go to:

Yes, you have been conned since you are already considering moving the
navigation to bring up the text above it. This is utterly nonsense and
will not help you ranking a bit.

That wasn't me being conned that was just me being stupid.

It just proves that stupidity is not hereditary, I am quite capable of being
an idiot on my own without parental guidance.

Pete
