Total beginner looking for database info

Hello! I'm a real beginner at Dreamweaver, and I'm looking to hook up a site
with a very simple database. What I'd like to do is simply list documents
available at our office, and have the list searchable. Much of what I've found
on this website is above my level of expertise. Is there a website or resource
people would recommend for providing basic database-hookup instructions for
someone who has no prior experience in this? Thanks so much!

I found asp101 to be really helpful on examples with a microsoft access
database. I am just now starting to learn all that too. But I have a long
ways to go. But you could use some of thier examples to help you build your
lists
