| Hi all, I am working with a client to roll out their new web site that was
developed in Dreamweaver and intended to be maintained in Contribute by the
client. The client has bought Dreamweaver and Contribute for his office and we
installed them and connected to the FTP server that hosts his site. The
problem is that although we can log on to the server, view files and folders,
we can not transfer files to or from the server, the server will time out with
no data being sent either way. This server is an IIS server with all the
latest patches, it is a State run web server with a good support crew behind
it. My client also has Frontpage, which he has used in the past to maintain
his old web site, and that app's FTP functions seem to be working alright. I
have also used Internet Explorer's FTP capabilities to log on to the server and
transfer files, so the problem seems to lie in the Macromedia products. I am
using the same version of Dreamweaver and Contribute in my office and am not
having any problems connecting to the server, but when I go on location to his
office, I am getting the same results as he, I can log on but I can not
transfer files. We have downloaded and run the Macromedia FTP Server Checker
program and run it against the server and all the results look good according
to that program. I have used Dreamweaver for 6 years and have never seen this
problem before. I have also worked with this server for a long time and have
other sites that I developed and maintain on it and am having no problems with
these other sites. The server administrators have assured me that our
accounts' permissions are set up properly to allow us to read/write/everything
on the server. Has anyone seen a problem like this before, or does anyone have
any suggestions? thanks in adavance.
