Author Multiple nav bars

I have made a nav bar with five horizontal buttons for the main categories at
the top of my page, now I want to put a vertical column with the more detailed
list of options down the left hand side. When I try insert-image
objects-navigation bar, it tells me I can only have one bar per page. Why?
I'm trying to replicate the arrangement on
http://www.sah.org.uk/services/index.htm which has three nav bars (or three
sets of buttons, one along the top, one in the graphics and one down the side).
Is there a significant difference betwen a nav bar and a set of links?

Well you could make the top menu out of a row of graphic with direct links - so
there is no rollover.

create the top nav with your image-nav

and then use a list to create the navigation down the left hand side for each
sub section

Don't use this at all. The navbar function is an antique from the frames
era, and is designed to work on framed sites. It offers you no advantage
over simple image swaps and in fact adds alot of unused code to the page in
doing so.

If you would just create your own navigation elements with rollover images,
you can have as many on a page as you want.

Ah -another of those wonderful built in features we shouldn't use. I had a suspicion someone was going to say that!
Cheers,
Alan.
