Author Type 1 fonts in WinXP x64

I'm not sure exactly what the bug is, but I am unable to see any Type 1 font
that I install into the Windows font folder in Corel DRAW 12.
I'm able to see the name of the font inthe drop down box but it is not
showing up in the menu preview nor on the artboard as I type text.
The fonts' components are all there as they were from the same directory
that I had used them when I was running Corel DRAW 10. The Type 1 fonts do
show up and work just fine in apps like MS Word, Adobe Illustrator 9,
Photoshop 7, etc.
I tried uninstalling CorelDRAW 12 and reinstalling it but no changes took
place.
I've searched the Internet for a bug like this with no luck.
Is there anyone out there running WinXP Pro x64bit edition and Corel DRAW 12
Suite with the same issue?

Thanks, Kyle

Kyle, I don't have x64bit, but just wanted to clarify one thing in your
post. Did you check under Tools/Options/ and in the dialog box on the
left pane Workspace/Text/Fonts and make sure the right side pane has
Show Type 1 fonts and Show font sample in drop down font lists checked
under the Font list contents?
Just checking to make sure.

Thanks for responding bananatree. Yes, I did check the Tools/Options -
Text/Fonts variables both Show Type 1 fonts & Type 1 symbols.
In between now and my last post I also installed Corel 11 Suite and am
having the same issue with it. Making me think it is a Corel / Windows
x64... just don't understand why MS and Adobe apps are not effected.

Have you installed the same font both in TT and T1 version?

Thanks, Mosh...
No I haven't installed both versions of any certain font.
I have noticed when I select any Type1 font from CD12 font list (again
without preview of font) and type something into a text box on the artboard,
that it types invisible letters. THEN when I select the "invisible" letters
(no inverse of color b.t.w.) and go to the menu Text/Encode, I can see a the
font previewed in the preview pane of the Text Encoding window. Although no
matter if I choose a different encoding... no change to the status quo.
Frustrated... Kyle

does it only do it in corel? check with microsoft tech.

make sure u don't have (2) of the same name...i.e. Garamond in Truetype and
Type 1...remove one.

note... if u install Adobe Type manager (ATM) from adobe.com...it's
supposed to work...but beware....if u decide o UNisntall it..it will remove
Native Type 1 support in XP...then u will have to look up the tech document
how to restore it at adobe.com.

if u use ATM...u can use the Multiple Master fonts also.

Kyle:

If the letters can be selected and if you choose another fill colour for
them, it is probably that the default colour for text was inadvertedly
changed to None. This can be easily corrected.

If the letters cannot be selected individually, but instead you see 8 little
black square boxes that form alltogether just a tiny area no matter how
close you zoom in, the font is probably corrupted. You can normally get to
see written words until you change the font it is set in. Corrupted fonts
can sometimes be fixed, but I wouldn't expect yours to be corrupted because
they were those included in the CD, which in my opinion are well
constructed.

If none of the above is true, post a small screenshot and the name of the
font. Send the font over to viejo_amargadoREMOVETHIS@hotmail.com so I can
test it and/or attempt to fix it.

I'm getting the exact same problem - did you manage to find a solution?
