Recently I've started using Illustrator CS for windows on my PC and I've ran into a lot of problems. On many occasions, I've tried to open certain files in Illustrator and it often takes a lot time than it really should and it causes major lag. For exampl
e, when I try to open a 80 MB file on my dell, it takes roughly 60-70 seconds. And on my Enpower PC, it takes even longer. In addition, whenever I try to save my work, my computer tells me that "there is not enough memory". Which is ridiculous, since I ha
ve roughly 2-4 GBs of memory on both PCs.

And even after reinstalling and reformating, the problems still persists. So based on that information, I'm guessing the problem is not hardware, but software in nature. I figured an update or a patch would have worked, but I can't seem to find one. So I
was wondering if there was something that I could do.

Check your pagefile settings. Should be Min==Max==2x installed RAM

As you say you have 4 Gb or RAM what O/S version are you running? If
XP-Pro are you using the 3-gig switch? (Can be problematic).

Also Illustrator can never use more than 2 Gb of RAM.

Is you Illustrator scratch file set to a drive with pr#lenty of free space?
