Using the "Path Type Tool" it is very easy to add text to the outside of a circle (or any shape); but how would you go about putting text on the inside of a circle (so that the text follows along the curve). I have tried clicking on the shape with the "pa
th Type Tool" and I am all out of ideas.

| Rene:
If the text is oriented the way you want, just give it a negative Baseline Shift in the Character Palette. steve

| Actually Steve and Rene:
In ai10 you would be best served to select your text path and text, as an object with the group select tool. Now you should see the selection path and an I-beam. Grab the top end of the I-beam and drag it across the path to the inside. BOOM! your text is
now on the inside.
For text to appear to be upright but at a smaller radius (at the top inside of your current circle), just put the text on a smaller circle.

| Actually, Bert, Steve, and Rene (René?),
To grab in 10, the Selection Tool is enough.
To get the right distance to the surrounding circle, a Baseline Shift may be necessary in any case.
