| I have cs2, ...
made a 23 x 52 inch file in Photoshop 300dpi, ... cmyk, with 4 channels , all spot colors, .. nothing in the cmyk layers. (file ts about 30Mbytes), ..
yet when I try to open in illustrator, i get PHOTOSHOP file is not readable error message...
ill & photoshop are at the latest revisions, ... both programs working fine, ... I have 2 different systems that I'm getting this error message on... I deleted the channels down to just one channel.... same error.
the file won't place either... :(
any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!
thanks

| If you DELETED the CMYK channels, What you have created is a multi-channel Photoshop file, I bet if you check under Image - Mode, that's what you'll find. Typically you have to save multi-channels as DCS EPS, there are a lot of threads going around on thi
s subject though and some interesting suggestions including leaving the CMYK layers but keeping them blank etc. Search the forum for multi-channel and DCS and I'll bet you come up with lots of advice. Illustrator loathes multi-channel, won't have anything
to do with it.
