Illustrator CS2 can't save a backwards compatible file?

| I tried searching, but couldn't find anything on this. I have Illustrator CS, and a design firm that we used made something in CS2. I asked them to export an Illustrator legacy file, but they said that with CS2 you can't do that anymore. I just wanted to
confirm if that's the case. Thank you.

True = False.
In CS you had to Legacy export. In CS2 you can, again, just save to older versions, including CS.

| Well now you're going to know something your 'design firm' doesn't...they're wrong! I think a lot of people have gotten tired of answering this question, but I'll give it to you since it's not your fault the 'expert' party doesn't know their software:
The order of operation has changed, but the option still exists. File> Save As> filename.ai...when the final dialogue box pops up, the first option on the list is to save all the way back to v3!
This should be one of the first FAQ's on the list.

| Thanks to the both of you, I really appreciate it. Needless to say, we don't use these people anymore (for other reasons, this is just another nail...)

| When I try to do the same in Adobe Illustrator CS2, I can't save a legacy file from File -> Save As, as described... I have to go to File -> Export. Just wanted to make sure in case others have the same problem.

| Chethan:
You are describing CS, not CS2. steve
