Does anybody know why I can't resave???!!!! This is so maddening!
It's keeps telling me that the file is locked or being used. Yeah, by
me! Then I just noticed that when I place a photoshop image into CS
and have it linked, I'll go back to photoshop and slightly modify it
and then try to resave there and it says it's locked. Then when I go
back to CS, it says it wants to update the file because something has
changed (very normal) and then it says it can't find it (not normal).
I didn't save the Photoshop image either.

We've reimaged my box and reloaded Illus. and Photo. but alas, it's
still here. Please help. I've tried to search through the forum but
haven't found anything yet. Is this a windows thing?

What's up??

I have that problem quite a bit in AI CS. I read a while back in this
forum that this is a glitch that happens when you open a file that is
being viewed as a thumbnail in the windows file folder. Change your
view to list or detail before opening in AI CS on a PC. This will
hopefully help you with this problem.

I think that when it says it is being used, it is because windows is
"using" the file as a thumbnail? Make sense?

Usually when this happens you'll have to save the file as a new file.
You probably won't be able to delete, move, or cut the old file.

Try this... Go to the folder where u hav seved it once. Then check in
file properties, make sure it's not "Read only". If it's read only, you
cant resave it, until u remove the tick on read only. :) Just check it,
otherwise i dont see any answers.
