Can't set Print Properties in Illustrator

| I cannot set Properties in Illustrator 9 with either my two printers,
an Epson inkjet and Samsung laser set as default. When I open the Print
menu and click on Properties, it's frozen. I have to go into Control
Panel and set the print properties there, which is awkward. This
problem just happened out of the blue. I installed Photoshop 7
recently. Properties work fine in it and every other program.
Illustrator still prints but I need a way to fix this, any ideas?
