Hi,
I have just worked through a tutorial by James Talmage, an
exceptionally well done tutorial, on the 2D representation of a sphere.
If you are interested you can find it here:
http://www.illustrationetc.com/AIbu...onstruction.pdf
Wherein Mr. Talmage mentions that the foreshortening on the vertical
axis can be determined by the sin of the tilt. My question is, is this
true generally - for objects of any shape? In other words, if I
rotate an arbitrary shape along the same axis, (horizontal and
perpendicular to the viewer) can the sin of the tilt be used to
determine the amount of foreshortening?

Thanks,
Ron
