I Have a file I was given from Illustrator CS2. I believe they saved it as an PDF. I view the file in Acrobat, looks fine, But when I open it up n Illustrator CS2 it let's me know some fonts are missing and the linked Jpeg file are missing too. How's that
work?

The fonts and linked images that were used to create the document do not exist on your computer. Versions of them are embedded in the PDF document for viewing purposes, but Illustrator cannot/will not use them to edit the document.
