File locks on *.ai files in Windows Explorer Thumbnail view

| Hi,
I've got a problem where I can't rename *.ai files if I have Windows Explorer open in Thumbnail view - I get an error telling me the file is in use.
I can consistently reproduce the problem as follows:
1. Open a folder that contains an *.ai file.
2. Change to Thumbnail view.
3. Copy an *.ai file.
4. Try to rename the file.
The files are local on my C: drive so it's not a network issue, and if I log off and on again and omit step 2 I can rename the file quite happily in Details view.
I'm guessing it's something to do with the part of Illustrator that generates thumbnails for Windows Explorer - maybe it's not closing the files properly after it's generated a thumbnail?
My work around is to keep logging off when I want to rename a file but that's becoming a bit of a pain. If anyone has any ideas what might be causing this it would help me out a lot.
Oh, and I'm using Windows XP SP2 and Illustrator 11.
Thanks,
Mike

| Please do a forum search with keyword 'aiicon.dll'.

| Hi Harron,
Thanks for your reply. The Adobe forums didn't return any results for 'aiicon.dll', but I found some pages on google about it, and I think it's the problem I've got.
I'll try disabling the Explorer extension in the Registry to see if it solves the problem.
Thanks again,
Mike

| Mike,
Try searching for aiicon.dll without the quotation marks ''; that is what Harron meant.

| Hi Jacob,
I tried search with and without quotes - maybe I was looking in the wrong place. I was using the Search box at the top of the forum list page at
<http://www.adobe.com/support/forums/>
but all I got was "Your search of Entire Site for aiicon.dll did not match any documents."
In any case, Harron pointed me in the right direction and I was able to find an answer on google so I'm happy now. :-)
Thanks,
Mike
