Author EPS to Photoshop - Back to Illustrator?

Greetings,
A co-worker has hit me with a good one and I'm hoping there's a way to reverse the process.

He imported images into Illustrator, added appropriate markings, etc, and saved as EPS files.

When it came time to insert the images into the document, he noticed how BIG EPS files can be and thought "I know, I'll open them in PhotoShop Elements, resize their physical dimensions, and not have humungo files to deal with..."

Well.. heh.. unfortunately, when he opened them in Photoshop Elements, they rastered up (yeah, he was aware, just didn't realize what that meant) and in shrinking the images, he also shrank the text.

He's fully prepared to go back to square one, import each image into Illustrator, do his markings, and basically just repeat the entire process.
The problem is that we're talking over 100 image files.

I'm hoping there's a way, since Photoshop and Illustrator are both Adobe proggies, that maybe we can 'un-raster' them? Basically, bring them back to vector?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Shane

This corresponds to bringing a zombie back to life.

If you succeed, many will want to know how.

Jacob,
Yeah, that was my take, though your description is far more enjoyable.

Eh... on the plus side, he's unlikely to do THAT again!
