Author How do I get Illustrator CS2 to remember the fill color?

Whenever I draw with the pencil, CS2 changes the fill and stroke colors to transparent. Is there a way to get it to stick with the colors I was using? (like it did in previous versions)

thanks

Rick,

There is a checkbox on the Pencil options dialog for "Fill new pencil strokes", which is defaulted to false. You can access the options dialog by double-clicking on the Pencil tool in the toolbox.

It should be always be using whatever stroke width and color were applied to the last selected object, though. There is no option to turn that off. What is showing as the stroke color at the bottom of the toolbox and as the width in the Stroke palette bef
ore you use the pencil?

If it is not working as it should, perhaps it is time to discard your AI Prefs file?
