Author Sharing Tags and Photos

I am in Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 and would very much like to be able to share both photo files and tags with my wife's computer via a home network, such that either of us can update and benefit accordingly.

I have set up the photos in a shared file so that either computer can access them and edit or add to them. This seems to result in a need to reconnect when certain changes are made. This is not a major issue but if there is a way around it I would like fi
nd it.

My major interest is in sharing the captions, tags and organizational data. Is there a way to do this without fouling things up?

A related question: Is there a way to download tags when cutting a CD so they may be picked up when reading the CD?

Seasons Greetings! David

Once again I have found that I pulled the trigger before aiming!

After posting the above I found some very useful dialogue has already taken place regarding network sharing. I'm not sure I fully understand yet but the key to sharing tags etc. appears to be properly locating C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Applicati
on Data\Adobe\Catalog\My Catalog.PSA. I still need some help here since we now have tags et al on both computers. I'm assuming that I will eventually have to get one computer completely up to snuff with tags and categories and then somehow make that compl
eted "My Catalog" file accessible to both computers. I want it on the desktop, but most of the work to-date has been done on the laptop.

I am thinking outloud here that a simple way is to take the desktop "MC" file and make it a shared file, then copy the laptop "MC" file over it when it is complete. But then how do I direct my laptop to connect to the new shared file on the desktop?

Hi David,

The 'My catalog' file will be automatically picked from the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Catalog\My Catalog.PSA location. You cannot connect to it if it is at any other location in Photoshop Album Starter Edition. This is poss
ible in Photoshop Elements which is a paid product where you can have multiple catalogs and can select to open the one you want.
